Moorestown, NJ -- Moorestown Council will hold a special meeting next week to discuss the township’s water situation.

The announcement of the meeting comes about a week after a group of concerned residents announced they had formed a new group.

The Moorestown Water Group is made up of a number of citizens concerned about levels of Trichloropropane (TCP 1, 2, 3) in the township’s drinking water.

The issue first came to light in 2014, when two water wells at the Church Street water treatment plant were closed. One of those wells reopened last summer after the well showed a “non-detect” level of TCP 1,2,3. Levels have tested at around .07 levels in each month since it has been reopened.
