Moorestown Friends Baseball Team to Host League Championship Game Saturday

The Foxes will face Shipley at 11 a.m.

The Moorestown Friends School baseball team will compete for its second consecutive league championship on Saturday.

Moorestown Friends will host Shipley in the Friends School League title game on Saturday, 11 a.m. Shipley was victorious when the teams met earlier this season.

Moorestown Friends advanced to the final with a 10-0 win over visiting Westtown on Wednesday.

Moorestown Friends got on the scoreboard early in the semifinal with three runs in the first, three runs in the second, and four runs in the third.

Mitchell Mullock picked up the win on the mound, fanning three and allowing three hits.

At the plate, he was 2-for-2 with five RBI. His twin brother Matthew was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. The Mullock twins are juniors.

The Foxes improved their record to 14-2 with the win.

Moorestown Friends defeated George School, 4-1, for their first-ever league championship last season.

Moorestown Friends will also be the No. 1 seed in the NJSIAA Non-Public B South tournament. They will host the winner of the game between No. 8 Wardlaw-Hartridge and No. 9 Pingry on May 26.

Offensively, the Foxes are led by senior second baseman Adam Quaranta, the school’s all-time hits leader who will play baseball next year at Franklin & Marshall College.
