Moorestown Friends School Prepares Bowls for Empty Bowl Dinner

The dinner is April 3 at the Moorestown Friends Meetinghouse.

Moorestown, NJ -- Ceramic artist and a Moorestown Friends School Art Teacher David Gamber, five supervising adults and 20 children gathered in the art studio of Moorestown Friends Upper School on March 6 to make bowls for the Empty Bowl Dinner of the Friends Enrichment Program (FEP).

The bowls will be displayed at the dinner, to be held on Sunday, April 3, in the D'Olier Room of the Moorestown Friends Meetinghouse. They will be displayed along with bowls made by ceramic artists.

Guests can purchase bowls and eat a dinner of homemade soup and bread for the cost of a freewill donation.

There will be two dinner seatings: 5 p.m.-6 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. From 6 p.m.-6:30 p.m., the Greater South Jersey Chorus will sing in the Meetinghouse under the direction of Ken Ewan.

Donations of soup, bread and juice will be gratefully accepted.

Proceeds will benefit the FEP scholarship fund that provides scholarships for financially underserved children to take music lesson, enroll in art classes or sports clinics, and attend summer camp at no cost to their

parents.
