Moorestown Friends Student Helps Raise $43K To Battle Cancer
Ali Chesnick's grandfather died of pancreatic cancer in 2012, and she has been fundraising ever since.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A Moorestown Friends School junior captained a team that raised nearly $43,000 to find a cure for pancreatic cancer, the school announced. Ali Chesnick captained Team Boychick, which was the top fundraiser in the region, in the annual PurpleStride Philadelphia walk this year.
“I reached out to my friends, my family, local businesses, and basically anyone I knew to help support research for a cure for pancreatic cancer,” Chesnick said.
She said she spread her message through email, videos, and social media. The event was held in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. Her team included 15 Moorestown Friends School students.

Her grandfather died of pancreatic cancer in 2012. Since then, she has been involved in fundraising efforts, raising over $225,00 in that time.
“I wanted to find out how I could help, so after doing some research, I started a team and began fundraising,” Chesnick said. “Everyone loved my Pop pop, so it means so much to me that everyone continues to support the efforts to finding a cure against pancreatic cancer.”
