The group will perform the Shakesepeare comedy Oct. 23-25.

The Moorestown High School Theater is producing one of William Shakespeare’s most imaginative and exuberant comedies this fall.
The Theater presents Much Ado About Nothing Oct. 23, 24 and 25 at the high school auditorium, 350 Bridgeboro Road. All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The show contrasts two pairs of lovers in a witty and suspenseful battle of the sexes.

According to the Theater:
Leonato (senior Steve Gross), the governor of Messina, is visited by his friend Don Pedro (senior Rahul Wadhwa) who is returning from a victorious campaign against his rebellious brother Don John (junior Max Bixby).

Accompanying Don Pedro are two of his officers: Benedick (freshman Rohan Wadhwa) and Claudio (sophomore Sam Scheibe).
While in Messina, Claudio falls for Leonato’s daughter Hero (junior Olivia West), while Benedick verbally spars with Beatrice (junior Nicole Tsarouhas), the governor’s niece.
Attracted to each other, the maddeningly skeptical Beatrice and Benedick are dead-locked in a lively war of words until their friends hatch a plot to unite them.
The mutually devoted Hero and Claudio, on the other hand, all too quickly fall victim to a malicious plot by Don John to part them.
Near-fatal complications ensue, Claudio’s hasty overreaction and Leonato’s redemption of Hero wield all the tools of a romantic comedy, making a story that is, indeed, much ado about nothing.
The Theater’s production sets Shakespeare’s classic tale in 1940s America. The WWII theme, complete with swing music and dancing, will pay tribute to both the greatest playwright and the Greatest Generation.
In preparation for their roles, cast members have done background research on the life and work of William Shakespeare, as well as on the history of the production, its various adaptations, and the World War II era.
Much Ado About Nothing is directed by Mrs. Erica Scanlon Harr, with scenic design by Mr. Brian Froonjian, costumes/hair & make-up by Mrs. Katie Keith, lighting design by Mrs. Dee Dugan, sound design by Mr. Joe Masciangelo, and business management by Mr. Greg Harr.
