Moorestown July 4, 2018: Parade, Where To Find Fireworks Nearby

The theme for this year's parade is "Lady Liberty."

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The theme for this year’s Moorestown Fourth of July Parade is “Lady Liberty.” The parade steps off at noon on Wednesday, July 4.

All civic and community groups are invited to march in the parade for free, but they need to register ahead of time. The lineup is pre-planned and the staging area is orchestrated into four quadrants.

The parade stages at the intersection of Chester Avenue and Central Avenue, at the Lechter Funeral Home. It proceeds up Chester Avenue before turning right onto Main Street and continues along Church.

There is a Veterans Float, as well as a place for classic cars and other “vehicle enthusiasts,” as well as civic groups and a kids bike parade.

Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, or whatever, and march as a group in the Parade. Safety first: Helmets and a responsible adult are required.

Civic and community groups that are invited to participate include Scouts, clubs, theater groups, neighborhood associations, cultural centers, and more.

Moorestown’s Citizen of the Year rides in style as part of the parade, followed by as many past Citizens of the Year as possible. The Citizen of the Year is administered by the Moorestown Service Clubs Council.

The top winners of the Parade Poster Contest ride in style. The contest is for Moorestown children ages 5-9. It is free to enter, and in addition to riding in the parade, the winners will have their posters displayed in the library.

The Color Guard and the American Flag open the parade. The "Deuce and a Half" truck driven by our Committee Chair will bring up the rear and close out the Parade.

When the parade is over, there are plenty of places nearby to go see some fireworks.

Evesham Township will set off its fireworks at Cherokee High School at 9:30 p.m. Doors open for the event at 7 p.m.

If you want to see Medford’s fireworks, it’s one night earlier. Their fireworks show is July 3, with a rain date of July 5.
