MOORESTOWN, NJ — Here's a look at some upcoming events at the Moorestown Library for the week of Aug. 26-30. Each event's description comes from the library's website. Click the name of each event for more information.

Monday, Aug. 26
History Cafe With Jean Perry, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Come, relax, and chat about American history. Retired history professor Jean Perry presents parts of history you may not have learned in school. There will be a focus on women in history, but also other bits and pieces that make history fascinating, just like fascinating bits and pieces of conversation in a cafe. Tuesday, Aug. 27
Let’s Play Mah Jongg!, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: This lively game is lots of fun and challenging. Those with experience are preferred. Come join in at the library with leader Betsy Schnorr. If you have a game, please bring it. REGISTER NOW!

Wednesday, Aug. 28
Watercolor Basics, 10 a.m. to noon: Come learn the basics of successful watercolor painting. You will learn which supplies are best, how to handle the brushes properly, how to keep your colors clean and transparent and lots more. Taught by local artist Schuyler McClain. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring any supplies that you may already have. REGISTER NOW!

Deer-Friendly Gardening, noon to 1 p.m.: Join Master Gardener Intern Dave Parsons to learn some basic facts about the white-tailed deer and several means of preventing deer-induced damage in your yard and/or garden. Then the presentation will shift gears and Dave will discuss a deer-friendly approach to landscaping and/or gardening. REGISTER NOW!

Thursday, Aug. 29
Opera Round Table, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Opera aficionado Bill Holt will facilitate a discussion of John Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles. All are welcome!
