Moorestown Lions Club Parade To Include Pet Segment This Year

Participation is free and all Moorestown organizations are welcomed.

Moorestown, NJ -- This year’s Lions Club Parade will include a pet segment for anyone who wants to have their household pet in the parade, the club announced this week. The 56th annual parade is Saturday, Dec. 3.

Pets with owners attached will congregate on Third Street at 11:45 a.m.behind the saw horse barrier immediately east of Chester Avenue.

Pets should be friendly and owners bend to bring plastic bags.

Costumed pets will compete for a prize but costumes are not required.

The parade will include performances by string bands, bag pipers, the Moorestown High School Band and the Liberty Band. There will also be marching units and floats.

The theme of this year's parade is “famous books.” Cash prizes will be awarded to the participants in the parade best exemplifying the theme.

The parade begins at Central and Chester avenues at noon and travels north to Main Street. It then travels south on Main Street until it reaches Church Street and the reviewing stand where it will proceed south to Memorial Field.

There is no entry fee and the participation of any Moorestown based organization is welcomed.
