Moorestown Lions Club Parade Bringing Animals Up Front And Center
The pets in this year's parade will appear much earlier than last year, the club said this week.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The pets are getting a promotion for the Moorestown Lions Club’s 57th annual Holiday Parade, set for Saturday, Dec. 2. It is the second consecutive year pets will have a place in the annual parade, but their owners and the other Moorestown residents will see them much earlier this year.
Last year, they were in the last segment of the parade. This year, they will march right after members of town council, in the beginning, the club announced this week. Therefore, pet owners will not have to wait as they had to last year.
Pets, with owners attached, will congregate on Third Street at 11:45 a.m. behind the sawhorse barrier immediately east of Chester Avenue. The parade begins at noon at the corner of Chester and Central avenues in Moorestown.

Pets should be friendly and owners should have plastic bags with them. Costumed pets will compete for a prize but costumes are not required. The theme for this year’s parade is Winter Frolic, and cash prizes will be awarded to the human parade participants who best exemplify the theme.
The parade begins at Central and Chester Avenues and travels north to Main Street. It then travels south on Main Street until it reaches Church Street and the reviewing stand where it will proceed south to Memorial Field.

There is no entry fee and the participation of any Moorestown based organization is welcomed.
