Moorestown Mall Deal To Be Discussed Monday Night
Moorestown Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday night. The meeting will be held virtually.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Council will discuss a proposed agreement between the township and the owner of the Moorestown Mall when it meets Monday night.
According to a recent court filing, there are plans to bring three apartment buildings and a hotel to the Moorestown Mall, the Courier Post reports. The four-story buildings would be able to accommodate up to 1,065 homes, with 213 units to be set aside for affordable housing. The hotel would be in the parking lot between Lenola Road and Sears.
A proposed deal between the township and the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) will be discussed as a non-consent agenda resolution.

The township began discussing the idea of housing at the mall about a year ago as it seeks to fulfill its third round affordable housing obligation under the Mount Laurel Doctrine.
In October, council authorized the planning board to look at the mall as a possible area in need of redevelopment. Read more here: Moorestown To Investigate Mall As Area In Need Of Redevelopment
