Moorestown Man Who Owns Restaurant Charged With Tax Evasion: Feds
Vitangelo Duva is accused of withholding taxes on employee payments for three years, according to authorities.
MOORESTOWN, NJ - A Pennsylvania restaurant owner from Moorestown failed to pay nearly $70,000 in federal taxes, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia. Vitangelo Duva is charged with willfully failing to collect federal taxes for employees, authorities said.
He is accused of withholding taxes from the federal government between 2007 and 2010, authorities said. Duva was the chief executive officer and president of DDAD Enterprises, which operated the Marco Polo restaurant in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
Authorities claim that he paid some employees at the restaurant some or all of their compensation in cash, but didn’t collect, account or pay federal income tax on the full amount of wages paid to those employees.
