Moorestown Better Than State Average on School Report Cards
The report cards measure academic achievement, as well as other statistics, including student-to-faculty ratio and staff salaries.

Once again, has surpassed the state average in most major academic categories in the Department of Education’s school report card for the 2010-11 school year.
Fifty-one percent of (MHS) students scored “Advanced” on the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA) in mathematics versus the 26 percent statewide average. And 36 percent of MHS students placed in the “Advanced” category for Language Arts Literacy, 15 percent higher than the state average.
The results were equally impressive at the , where the percentage of students deemed “Advanced” or “Proficient” in the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge was several points higher than the state average in most categories.
MHS students also scored higher than the state average on the SATs in every category (math, verbal and essay). The percentage of 11th and 12th graders participating in Advanced Placement courses was also appreciably higher at Moorestown (53 percent vs. 40 percent statewide).
The district has a higher student-to-administrator ratio than the state average (234 students per administrator at MHS vs. 190 statewide, and 325 at the UES vs. 293 statewide), though the student-faculty ratio is virtually even.
The median administrative salary at Moorestown School District ($117,940) is approximately $1,500 lower than the state average and the median salary for faculty members is $6,000 lower.
A few other interesting facts from the school report cards:
- Moorestown High School’s average school day (7 hours, 4 minutes) is 11 minutes longer than the state average. The UES school day (6 hours, 55 minutes) is 25 minutes longer than the state average.
- The student/computer ratio at MHS is higher than the state average (five students per computer at Moorestown vs. state average of three), as well as at the UES (11 to 3.5).
- The high school has a 95.66 percent graduation rate.
