Moorestown Police Advise Residents of New Notification System Ahead of Storm
Burlington County is using the web-based Swift 911 notification system.

Moorestown, NJ -- Moorestown Police are reminding residents of a new emergency notification system being used by Burlington County and local emergency services ahead of a blizzard that is expected to dump up to 18 inches of snow on South Jersey this weekend.
Swift 911 is web-based, affording county officials with the ability to message from any location, at any time of the day or night. As long as there is access to a telephone or computer with Internet access, the public can be notified no matter how extreme the emergency.

Additionally, residents have the ability to OPT-IN via text, by texting 99538 to SWIFT911.
The Blizzard Watch was upgraded to a Blizzard Warning Friday morning.

Police are advising residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary, and park their cars off street to allow the Department of Public Works plows to do their job.
Residents are also reminded to keep their sidewalks clear for pedestrians, and to store away or tie down items in their yards that may be able to take flight.
Residents should also check on elderly neighbors and relatives, and be prepared for power outages.
