Moorestown Police Donate $1K To Samson Cancer Center

Moorestown police raised the money during No Shave November. It was donated on the one-year anniversary of the center's opening.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown police have donated $1,000 raised through their No Shave November effort to the Virtua Samson Cancer Center, police said on Monday.

The $1,000 check was donated by Det. Don Brauckmann on behalf of the members of Moorestown FOP Lodge #109 with the support of the Moorestown Police Department, police said.

The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting facial hair grow for the month of November.

Moorestown police officers participate with the approval of Chief Lee Lieber, growing neatly trimmed facial hair to help spark conversations about men's health issues.

Money the officers would typically spend on shaving and grooming will be donated in an effort to educate others about cancer prevention and to aid those fighting the battle. Each dollar raised by the Moorestown police officers is matched by the Moorestown FOP, up to $500 total.
