Moorestown Pub Crawl Committee Recognized For Domestic Violence Awareness Efforts
The committee received a proclamation from the township Monday night.

Moorestown, NJ -- The Moorestown Pub Crawl Committee was just honored by township council, and it is already preparing for next year’s event.
Members of the committee were on hand to receive a proclamation from the township for Domestic Violence Awareness Month during Monday night’s council meeting.
“We are honored to receive this proclamation for the second year, and we are so excited to begin work on next year’s Pub Crawl to raise money and awareness for domestic violence victims,” Pub Crawl Founder and Committee Chair Melissa Young said. “Thank you to Mayor Phil Garwood and Deputy Mayor Victoria Napolitano for their commitment to this cause from the start and for their willingness to help shine a light on domestic violence issues in our community.”

Work has begun on the 2017 Pub Crawl, which will take place on May 1, at 6 p.m.
As in past years, the Pub Crawl Committee will be working with restaurants at the Moorestown Mall to put together a fun filled evening that includes Happy Hour specials, raffles, t-shirt sales, and more.

Participating restaurants are expected to include Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar, Distrito, Firebird’s Wood-Fired Grill, and Catelli Duo.
Sponsorships for the event will be available, and details will be announced in the coming months, the committee said.
Proceeds from the crawl benefit Providence House, a local Burlington program that provides a 24-hour confidential hotline, legal advocacy, emergency shelters, counseling and education.
Providence House offers life-saving options for victims and their children who find themselves needing a safe haven from abuse.
To date, approximately $10,000 have been raised from the Moorestown Pub Crawl to benefit these critical and life-saving programs.
“Domestic violence impacts 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men,” Young said. “It impacts people of all ages, genders, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are proud to be doing our part to stand up against domestic violence, and we are truly humbled by the outpouring of support we have received from our community to help victims right here in our backyard.”
The Moorestown Pub Crawl Committee consists of volunteers from Moorestown. The committee for the 2017 includes Young, Elizabeth Dawson, Kristen Holmbeck, and Vinny Napolitano.
