Moorestown Resident Jenni Fink Releases First Book
Her release party is on July 25 at James Oliver Gallery in Philadelphia.
A 23-year-old Moorestown resident recently had her first book released, and she’s holding a release party to celebrate.
Jenni Fink will celebrate the release of her book “Sentenced to Life” on July 25 at James Oliver Gallery in Philadelphia, PA, 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Fink, a lifelong township resident who graduated from Moorestown High School and the University of Arizona, describes her book as “an exciting, well-written, insightful Chick Lit full-length novel about the adjustment from the college experience to life as an adult.”

Fink is a part-time writer who began her career with Buzzfeed, as a community contributor and the satirical lifestyle blog, “Frankly Fink.” Her book began as a book of essays based on her blog.
“But about halfway through, I really started to observe what my friends and I were going through and I realized that I wasn’t doing the story of being 22, just out of college and suddenly faced with the rest of your life, any justice by only including the funny parts,” Fink said. “That’s when I turned it into a novel. My inspiration comes from everywhere, I’m a major observer of people and human interactions and I think if you look up from your phone every once in a while you’ll find that your inspiration is all around you, all the time.”

“Sentenced to Life” is her first novel and she currently lives in New Jersey and is working on her second novel.
“I’ve been working on “Sentenced To Life” for over a year and I think whenever you get the opportunity to see all of your passion and hard work materialize you go through a sort of personal enlightenment,” Fink said. “You get to see how powerful one idea can be when you are confident enough to stand behind it, which is truly an amazing thing and to have that realization at 23 is incredible.”
Her book is published by Pegasus Books, a traditional medium press, dedicated to publishing the works of aspiring new authors and providing greater opportunities and support to established writers.
“For a few weeks I’ve been trying to come up with a word that describes what I’m feeling and usually I come back around to enthusiastic bordering hysterical but when I see my book on Amazon or Barnes and Noble or I hold it in my hand, I’m not thinking about myself. I’m thinking about my readers,” Fink said. “The extreme emotion that I have about “Sentenced To Life” doesn’t come from my desire to be a bestseller. It comes from my hope that people will read this book and feel a little more like they’re exactly where they need to be at 22, 23 or even 25 and a little less like they’re not meeting the expectations that the media has put on us. If even just one person has that realization after reading my book, I’ll consider it a success.”
“At Pegasus Books, we are very excited about “Sentenced To Life” because it speaks to the millennial demographic from a point-of-view that is relatable and reflective, using humor, good descriptions and effective dialogue to deliver its message,” Pegasus Books said in a statement. “The book possesses the sense of intrigue, adventure and unpredictability we look for in the books we publish, and we have found Ms. Fink to be an incredible author. We hope to publish all her future works.”
Fink will be autographing copies of her book and sharing a special author’s comment at the release party. There is no fee for the party, but space is limited. Books will be available at the event.
A brief synopsis of the book is below:
College Graduation Day! After years of hard work and study, you finally achieved it—so now what? For millions of kids, it’s back at home with family, reacquainting with friends while searching for that ideal job. Think of Chelsea Carlton as a younger, slightly less-secure Carrie Bradshaw. Chelsea spent four years under the guise of security, brought on by too much California sunshine and years of unbridled encouragement—but after one short walk across the stage, she is yanked from her fairytale existence and delivered a sobering dose of reality.
Her life, which was once well-ordered and promising, begins to unravel. Now jobless, she is forced to move back to her hometown and her unrequited summer love, Chris. Then as quickly as their relationship ended, he’s back in her life, ready to start fresh. Will she let him back into her life and risk another broken heart or take a chance on love with an old friend? Should she continue to pursue her dreams, or will she accept that her dreams will never become realities? With so many different paths to choose, she’s forced to make decisions that will forever change her future.
The book is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords and Pegasusbooks.
