Moorestown Residents Concerned About New Superintendent Hire

Members of the community aren't concerned about Scott McCartney's qualifications, but they'd rather see someone in the district get the job.

Moorestown, NJ -- Members of the community voiced their displeasure with the Moorestown School District over its appointment of Dr. Scott P. McCartney as superintendent Monday night, the Burlington County Times reports.

Residents didn’t question McCartney’s qualifications, but they did ask why the district didn’t select someone from within the district, according to the report.

Carole Butler had been serving as Interim Superintendent, and at least one parent said she was afraid Butler would leave the district after being passed over for the position. Residents are also afraid McCartney will leave before his five-year term is up, according to the report.
