Moorestown Rotary Club Backpack Drive Benefits Students In Need

Every member of the club helped stuffed 140 backpacks with $8,000 worth of school supplies.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Members of the Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club helped stuff 140 backpacks with school supplies during an event to benefit local students in need in Grades K-8 last week.

The backpacks full of folders, pencils and other items were delivered to the Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development (MEND) and the school district, the Rotary Club said. Those groups will then deliver the backpacks to those in need.

Every member of the club participated in the event, in which $8,000 worth of supplies were collected, according to the Rotary Club. More than 3,000 students have benefited from this drive, which has been a staple of the Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club for more than two decades.
