Moorestown Rotary Donates $1,000 To Strawbridge Lake Committee
The Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club recently donated $1,000 to the Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee.

MOORESTOWN, NJ - The Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club has donated $1,000 to the Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee to help promote a cleaner environment and a healthy lifestyle, the club announced.
The Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee was formed as a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit to improve and revitalized Strawbridge Lake. This year with the help of Young's landscaping the banks of the lake, along Haines Drive were cut back to allow people access to the lake.
The committee’s future plans include having the lake edge cleaned up and cared for each year. The committee is working to possibly add a few floating 10x10 docks on the edge of the lake.

The children pond is being dredged this year and will be completely cleaned up. Work on the walking pathway will also begin this year. The first phase of work will start at Kings Highway and go to Pleasant Valley. The hope is to continue the path to Church Street and add seating benches and lights along the path as well.
Additionally, the Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee is excited to present the second annual Moorestown Paddleboard/Kayak Race on June 8 at Strawbridge Lake. There will be live bands, face painters, food trucks, vendors, and silent auction baskets.

The organizers are also applying to have a liquor license at the event, but Moorestown Council would have to pass a resolution allowing a one-day exception for beer to be served. The council indicated on Monday night that it would consider a resolution.
Alcohol wouldn’t be served until the completion of the races on the lake, which are 1-mile and 4-miles, respectively. Rentals will be available so everyone can enter. Awards for winners of all races, cash prizes for winners of the 4-mile race. Early Bird race tickets are available at www.strawbridgelakebc.org/2019-moorestown-paddleboard-kayak-r.
All racers receive a t-shirt and other race goodies. All proceeds benefit Strawbridge Lake care and maintenance fund. Proceeds from last year's race helped to fund a cleanup of the entire length of Haines Drive.
