Technology Upgrades Part Of Moorestown Schools' Adopted 2022-23 Budget

The 2022-23 budget totals approximately $79 million, the school district's Business Administrator says.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Technology upgrades are one part of the school budget that the Moorestown School Board adopted for the 2022-23 school year, the school board said.

Specific component of this upgrade, according to the district, include:

  • Replacing one remaining grade of oldest Chromebooks.
  • Replacing one grade of oldest Windows laptops.
  • Replacing one model of outdated iPads.
  • Updating 40 replacement wireless access points.
  • Replacing and consolidating main servers.
  • Writing new curricula in several subjects.
  • Providing professional development for teachers

The 2022-23 budget also includes funding for the district's Care Solace program, a mechanism that puts students, school staff and their families in touch with mental health and substance use treatment providers best suited to meet their needs.

"Given how challenging times are, with prices going up, we were really happy with getting the best we could out of this budget," Mick Weeks, School Board President, told Patch in a May 20 interview. "We're able to still innovate and add to our offerings and what our students are getting, even in this difficult budget time."

The 2022-23 school district budget totals approximately $79 million, according to Heiser.

This means that for the average homeowner in the Moorestown School District in 2022-23, their property tax will go up by about $100, he added.
