Moorestown Schools Extend Full-Remote Model Through Holidays
The Moorestown Public School District has extended its full-remote learning model another month amid a spike in coronavirus cases.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Public School District has extended its full-remote learning model another month amid a spike in coronavirus cases, the district announced on Friday. It will return to its hybrid model on Jan. 8.
The district entered into a full-remote model on Nov. 23 after it received new guidance concerning the coronavirus from the New Jersey Department of Health.

Before instituting the full-remote option, Moorestown Superintendent of Schools Scott McCartney said that a benchmark for shutting down schools was if there were 2-3 cases, and that many of Moorestown's schools were on the brink. As of Friday morning, there have been 694 cases of the coronavirus and 64 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. Countywide, there have been 14,953 cases, 520 confirmed deaths and 57 probable deaths due to the virus.
