Moorestown Teen Killed In PA Turnpike Crash

Pennsylvania State Police have identified the victim in Monday's crash as Kelly C. O'Brien, 18, of Moorestown.

A Moorestown teenager has been identified as the victim of Monday afternoon's tractor trailer crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County.

O'Brien, 18, was driving when she was sideswiped by a tractor trailer, which then overturned onto her vehicle, according to authorities.

According to 6ABC, the tractor trailer, which was carrying 20,000 pounds of soap, overturned onto the car around 3 p.m. between exits 343 and 351.

Eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bensalem were closed for several hours after the accident.

O'Brien was a 2015 graduate of Moorestown High School.

"Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time," Moorestown Schools Interim Superintendent Carole Butler said in a brief statement Tuesday afternoon.

She was a communications major at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa., according to the Burlington County Times.
