Youngest Female U.S. District Court Judge In NJ History Is An Attorney From Moorestown

MOORESTOWN, NJ – Moorestown attorney Georgette F. Castner was sworn in as a U.S. District Court Judge for the State of New Jersey on Thursday, making her the youngest woman in the history of the Garden State to hold that title, roi-nj.com reported.

U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez had recommended Castner for the position, Menendez said in a press release.

During her 15 years of experience in state and federal litigation, Ms. Castner has gained a reputation as one of the brightest and most hardworking attorneys in our state,” he added.

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker called Castner “extraordinary well-qualified to serve the state and our country as a federal judge” in the press release.

Prior to Castner’s confirmation, she had been an attorney with previously an attorney for Montgomery McCracken Law Firm, where she primarily worked on government, white-collar and commercial litigations as well as cannabis law, the press release stated.

The State Senate had confirmed Castner by a 52 to 47 vote earlier this year, according to the press release.
