Moorestown Woman Was Dedicated Church Goer, Garden Club Member

​Mabel "May" Wiltshire Van Fossen passed away peacefully at her home in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, on Sunday, November 11, 2018.

Mabel “May” Wiltshire Van Fossen passed away peacefully at her home in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, on Sunday, November 11, 2018. May was born to Freida and George Cheesman on December 28, 1929 in Camden, New Jersey. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother George Cheesman and survived by her brother Raymond Cheesman. She was married to William H. Wiltshire from 1951 until his death in 1990. She is predeceased by their daughter Dawn Miller (husband Peter Miller), and survived by their sons Bill Wiltshire (PattyWoodham), Alan Wiltshire (wife Susan Wiltshire) and Mark Wiltshire (Florence Schiavo), 15 Grandchildren Wendy, Krista, Marta, Zachariah, Rosanna, Janel, Dante, Tiandra, Sherae, Serge, Grant, Will, Sidney, Tyler and Ethan as well as one great-grandchild Tori.

In 1992, May married William Van Fossen of Moorestown, New Jersey. She was predeceased by William in 2007 and survived by his children Candy (husband Doug Sell), William (wife Beth Van Fossen) and Rick (wife Marie Van Fossen) and nine grandchildren Doug, Andrew, Meredith, Abigail, Kirsten, Emily, Will, Andrea and Tony.

May lived a rich and rewarding life. She was an active and faithful member of many church congregations throughout her life, most recently at First United Methodist Church in Moorestown.

She was an avid gardener and longtime member of the Moorestown Garden Club. More than anything, May took her greatest pleasure in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a kind and generous soul whose thoughtful and caring ways touched many lives.

Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16, at the First United Methodist Church, 444 Camden Ave. Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment in the Church Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 446 Camden Ave. Moorestown, NJ 08057.
