Moorestown Wrestlers Learn Their Seeds for Region 7 Tourney

Moorestown’s seven wrestlers headed to the Region 7 tournament this week got their first look at first-round opponents.

The Trentonian published the full seedings for the Region 7 tournament.

While Tyreek Smith earned a first-round bye in the 195-pound class, Moorestowns other wrestlers will grapple as underdogs in their pairings. 

Moorestown’s seeds in the Region 7 tournament are:

106 pounds: No. 11 Max Rohan (Moorestown) vs. No. 6 Chris Wolf (Haddon Township)

138 pounds: No. 14 John Menendez (Moorestown) vs. No. 3 Brandyn Bush (Seneca)

145 pounds: No. 3 Mike McCutcheon (Haddon Township) vs. No. 6 Walter Fox (Moorestown)

152 pounds: No. 12 Anthony Williamson (Moorestown) vs. No. 5 Anthony Kubish (Hamilton East)

160 pounds: No. 9 Spiro Martianou (Moorestown) vs. No. 8 Ricky Robbins (Seneca)

195 pound: No. 3 Tyreek Smith (Moorestown) to wrestle winner of No. 11 Mark Alberto (Paul VI) vs. No. 6 David Capone (Cherry Hill West) 

Heavyweight: No. 5 James Dever (Moorestown) vs. No. 4 Tyler Gildner (Robbinsville)

Regions start Feb. 27 at Robbinsville High School in Mercer County. The top three in each weight class move to state bouts, NJ.com reports.
