Moorestown's 30-Year-Old Rotary Club Honors Founding Members
The gavel was also passed to new president Dr. Ben Blank on Wednesday.
Moorestown, NJ -- The 30-year-old Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club honored its founding members at its breakfast Wednesday morning.
It also “passed the gavel” to its new president Dr. Ben Blank.
The club’s founding members include Don Petroski, Phil Cooper, Joe Gross, Dick Leuliette, Rick Young, Mike O'Connor, Bill Brown, Dr. Jack Ginsberg, David Friedman, and the late Doug Lewis. Leuliette was the club’s first president.

Over the course of its history, the Rotary Breakfast Club has sponsored college scholarships and purchased school supplies.
This includes filling 160 backpacks with school supplies for Moorestown students for two decades and $20,000 in scholarships annually for Moorestown High School students. This year’s backpack-filling event is Tuesday, Aug. 16.

This year the club has funded many local individual charities including:
- YMCA Camp No Worries;
- Moorestown Citizen of the Year;
- Power up Gambia Solar Panels;
- Curing Polio via Rotary International;
- Navajo Nation Clean Water Program;
- Moorestown Police Department Police Unity Tour;
- Burlington County Sheriff Project Life Saver;
- 2 AED's for the practice fields in Moorestown; and
- $10,000 pledged to the Moorestown Community House over five years to help refurbish the building.
The breakfast meetings are held every Wednesday morning at 7:15 AM at the Moorestown Community House located at 16 East Main Street.
Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-3) will address the Breakfast Club on Wednesday, July 31.
Guests can arrive 15 minutes early, have a cup of coffee and socialize before meetings start.
