Moorestown's Roberts Elementary School Students Show Respect for Others

Students at Roberts Elementary School in Moorestown celebrated safe and healthy living choices, and showing respect for others throughout the month of October.

Guidance lessons centered on promoting New Jersey’s Week of Respect, New Jersey’s School Violence Awareness Week, and the National Family Partnership’s Red Ribbon Week initiatives.

Activities included a special Mix-It-Up Lunch, when students were asked to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch.

The students also enjoyed spirit wear themes all week such as Give the Slip to Bullying and Drugs Day, when students wore slippers to school.

A birthday party assembly was held for school mascot Robbie the Heart, who was presented with an important gift: a “Helping Hand” flag made of paper hands representing each student and staff member’s commitment to keep Roberts safe.

The lessons and celebrations served as a wonderful reminder of Roberts’ motto: “Building Strong Minds and Warm Hearts.”
