Mount Laurel Bear Prompts Warnings from Police
A bear wandering around Mount Laurel causes multiple alerts as it moves from property to property near Church Street.

A bear seemingly making itself at home in Mount Laurel is spurring a series of alerts from township police.
Police have issued several Nixle alerts about the bear's whereabouts, plus words of warning for residents.
So far, the bear seems content to stay in about a half-mile radius around Church Street between Route 38 and I-295. It was spotted in a backyard on the 200 block of Meadow Drive Sunday. Police initially thought the bear moved on, but it was back foraging around Kindercare on South Church Street Monday morning.

As of Monday early afternoon, the bear seemed to move around the Church Street area.
Mount Laurel Police caution residents to keep their trash and bird feeders indoors and stay away from the bear. That goes for any curious onlookers too, police added—they implored people to stay away from the area and not attempt any photos of the bear.
