MTC is used to performing at the middle school, Hope Church and Upper Elementary School, but has moved to the bigger stage at the high school for this production. With all the changes, they had one week to get the show ready.

“There were a lot of challenges, but that’s what theater people do, we embrace challenges,” said Morgan, who is directing the show.

“So many people have a tradition at Christmas every year of watching this movie with ‘Ralphie’ trying to get his air rifle, and his friend ‘Flick’ getting his tongue stuck to a flagpole,” Morgan said. “We have been trying to get the rights to this wonderful new musical for several years, and were finally successful this year. As we rehearse this musical, we know that it was the wait! And there are several other productions in the area this holiday season, but ours is the only one that is cast age and gender appropriately.”
