MTC's 'Scenes And Songs IV' Is A Family Affair

Tom McHale's wife, children and father-in-law all lend a helping hand to his innovative idea.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — MOORESTOWN, NJ — For the fourth time in five years, the Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will present an “Alternative Stage” production of “Scenes and Songs,” and this version will have a strong family flavor.

The production is the brainchild of Moorestown Theatre Company Vice Chairperson Tom McHale, and has gotten bigger and better with every version MTC has done, Artistic Director Mark Morgan said on Wednesday.

“We’re thrilled that Tom McHale brought this to us and that we’re able to do it,” Morgan said. “It gets bigger and better with every version. If you’re looking for a diverse evening of theater, there’s no better show than ‘Scenes and Songs IV.’”

McHale’s family is getting in on the act this year, as his wife and Moorestown’s resident Pie Lady Christine McHale will perform in the show.

“This is such a labor of love for me to direct this production,” said McHale, whose wife, Christine McHale said. “I truly believe that our fourth version of ‘Scenes and Songs’ will be our best. We have so many talented performers in our cast, and our collection of scenes and songs will provide something for everyone. From ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ for the kids, to ‘The Brady Bunch’ for the parents, to ‘Guys And Dolls’ for the grandparents, we promise that all ages will enjoy our production. And I’m so thankful to the Moorestown Theater Company for letting me bring my dream to reality.”
