NJ Fireman, Advocate Dies After 30 Years Of Service
A lieutenant and fire commissioner, Leonberg also served the New Jersey Firemen's Relief Association and the New Jersey Firemen's Home.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — The South Jersey firefighting community lost a longtime member on Thursday when Gregory Denison Leonberg Sr. died at the age of 68, Lewis Funeral Home said.
His cause of death was not released.
Leonberg was a member of the Moorestown Fire Department Hose Company No. 1 for 30 years and held roles that included Lieutenant and Fire Commissioner.

He was also on the board for the New Jersey Firemen's Relief Association and was Burlington County's representative to the board of the New Jersey Firemen's Home for 20 years.
Along with his service to the community, Leonberg enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and collecting antiques.

Many of these journeys to gather unique finds were conducted in earlier days of technology, with printed MapQuest directions and one of his kids reading them out loud in the car.
Even in his personal pursuits of joy, he always returned to making others smile.
According to his obituary, he created "one of the most admired holiday displays in town."
As a single father for the last 21 years, Greg continued to devote love and time to his four surviving children.
"The members of Relief Engine Company mourn the loss of a former firefighter from station 311...our thoughts and prayers are with Geoff and Greg's entire family," Moorestown Relief Engine Company 312 said in tribute.
Greg's son, Geoff, is a current member of Station 312.
Leonberg led by "building a vast network of friends and acquaintances who were touched by his generosity and willingness to help whenever needed."
He is being remembered as "a man who gave selflessly to others while embracing life on his own terms."
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor can be made to the Moorestown Fire Department at 261 W. Main St.
