MANSFIELD, NJ — Three people, including a New Jersey State Police trooper, were hurt after an early morning crash along the New Jersey Turnpike on Saturday, the State Police said. At around 12:45 a.m., troopers responded to a crash near mile marker 50.6. Based on early evidence, a Jeep broke down on the highway, and an unmarked Ford Explorer Troop Car was parked behind it with emergency lights on. A Honda going south then hit the back of the Ford and the Jeep, leaving the trooper and driver of the Honda with minor injuries. Both were taken to the hospital. A minor who was a passenger in the Honda was seriously hurt and also taken to hospital, authorities said. No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under review.
