NJ Transit's Rethinking South Jersey Service. Here's How To Tell Them What You Think.
The company will host a public meeting Wednesday to get feedback from residents in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Currently, 678,230 riders live within a 1/4 mile of NJ Transit service in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties but only 23, 475 use the service on weekdays, NJ Transit said.
NJ Transit will host a meeting Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Boscov's wing of Moorestown Mall to solicit feedback from South Jerseyans that may improve that ratio, the company said.
The feedback will be used to help develop and implement an NJ Transit initiative called NewBus, according to an NJ Transit spokesperson.

"NewBus Burlington-Camden-Gloucester or BCG ... reimagines the local bus network serving the three-county region," Emma Wright, a senior public information officer at NJ Transit, said in an interview.
"Addressing customer needs with a redesigned bus network provides an opportunity to enhance the customer service experience and improve access to transit service that connects residents and employees with opportunities throughout the BCG region and beyond," she continued.

Online comments and NewBus BCG public meetings held earlier this year have indicated that offering "more frequent service" (44 percent) may increase ridership in the three-county region, followed by offering "more reliable service" (23 percent), extending hours of operation (12 percent), reducing fares (7 percent) and shorter distances to a bus stop (6 percent).
Those who cannot attend the public meeting can leave comments at www.njtransit.com/newbus-bc or email comments directly to NewBus@njtransit.com, Wright said.
NJ Transit hopes to have draft recommendations for NewBus BCG by the end of the summer and then finalize those recommendations by the end of the year, the company said.
