Christopher Mark Hughes, 66, died unexpectedly on November 7, 2017, in Riverdale, N.Y. He was born in Edgewater, N.J., on September 7, 1951, the son of Constance T. and the (late) Charles J. Hughes. He is survived by his beloved wife Shobha Diane (Pasqualone) Hughes. Raised in Moorestown, New Jersey, Chris moved to New York City in 1970 as a student at Fordham University and he remained in New York City thereafter.

Chris was well loved by his wife and family for his sense of humor, artistry, creativity and spirituality. Chris was a devotee of the Siddha Yoga Ashram, where he and Shobha married on October 24, 1993. Chris was an artist. His vivid landscapes and startlingly, beautiful still life photography was displayed at various venues in Manhattan over the years, including the Empire State Building. Chris was passionate about film, especially the classics and the actors who portrayed the characters. He had a wonderful singing voice and was a creative, philosophical writer.

He is also survived by his four brothers Charles, Cornelius, Daniel and Peter, and his six sisters Mary, Jacqueline, Patricia, Barbara, Stephanie and Geraldine and by 30 nieces and nephews. Chris also had a broad circle of many wonderful friends. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
