UPDATED: Obituary: Dr. Harris Fister

Harris G. Fister, MD., passed away at the age of 92 on August 5, 2015 at the Wiley Home

Dr. Fister, formerly Maple Shade, NJ, was raised and lived in Maple Shade for 75 years moving to Wiley Retirement Center, Marlton in 1999. He was a graduate of the Class of 1941 from Moorestown High School and from 1941 – 1944.

He attended Gettysburg College and went onto Jefferson Medical School after graduation in 1947, interned at Cooper Hospital. He served in the Army as a Physician from 1948- 1950 and was reactivated in 1950 during the Korean war to Serve at Ft. Dix.

He opened his private practice in Maple Shade in 1950 and was there for many years as well as served as Physician for the Maple Schools and taught at Cooper Hospital: Clinical Aspects History and Physical Examination.

Husband of the late Jane Fister. Father of Jeffrey S. Fister, DDS , and his wife Barbara, Lee Fister and his spouse John Myers , Nancy Daniels and her husband Phillip. Grandfather of Carey Dorr, Nicolai Hauser and Andrei Hauser. Great Grandfather of Tyler, Parker, Aaron, & Cooper Dorr.

Memorial service is 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept.12, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, Camden and Pleasant Valley Avenue, Moorestown, NJ.

Interment was held privately.
