John T. McDonough, 72, of Mount Holly, peacefully passed away, on Saturday, July 30, 2016.

John T. McDonough, 72, of Mount Holly, peacefully passed away, on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
Born in Clarksville, TX to the late John R. and Sarah Kathleen (Owens) McDonough, he lived in Mount Holly for most of his life.
John was a United States Air Force, Vietnam era veteran and retired from the ANG, 170th CE. He later retired from Richard A. Alaimo Associates, Mount Holly, where he worked as maintenance supervisor.

Additionally, he worked as a self-employed general contractor and had been a police officer for Mount Holly Township.
John loved spending time with his granddaughters; was a past trustee of L.O.O. Moose, Lodge 737; and was an avid football fan.

He was predeceased by his brother, Carroll “Mickey.”
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Sharon (Stone) McDonough. Also surviving are his children, Melanie McElwee and her husband Brian, Eric, Kelly Watford, and Tom; brother and sister-in-law, James “Dickie” and Carol; granddaughters, Shelby and Kayleigh McElwee; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m.–8 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, at the Lewis Funeral Home, 78 East Main Street, Moorestown, where at 7:30 p.m. a prayer service will be held. Interment at Mount Holly Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the America Emergency Squad, 219 Mill Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060 would be appreciated.
