Obituary: Margaret Mary Van Sciver

Margaret Mary Van Sciver (nee Hyland) died on Jan. 8, 2018, at the Evergreens at the age of 92. Margaret was born and raised in Camden and raised her children in Edgewater Park, NJ. before later moving to Moorestown.

She had a very fulfilling career with both RCA and later GE Corporation in various places including Camden, New York City, Stamford, CT and Cherry Hill, NJ, where she had worked as an Executive Secretary for many years. Margaret grew up in Sacred Heart Church in Camden and has been a longtime member of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Moorestown.

Wife of the late John Gilbert, Jr. Mother of John Gilbert Van Sciver III, William James Van Sciver, Margaret Van Sciver, Martha Eloise Briscoe and Christine Chitwood. Also survived by her brother Richard S. Hyland and her 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Moorestown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made to the Evergreens Employee Appreciation fund c/o Evergreens 309 Bridgeboro Rd. Moorestown, NJ 08057, Attention Nicole Albrecht. This is in appreciation for the great and compassionate care their mother received from the staff.
