Obituary: Mary Ann Pansiero

Mary Ann Pansiero died at home on March 22.

Mary Ann Pensiero (nee Simon), 63, of Southampton, NJ, died at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.

Mary Ann was a beautiful, kind, and loving wife and mother.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, she was oldest of four children, and grew up in Baptistown, Kingwood Township, NJ, where she developed a love of the outdoors.

She graduated from Delaware Valley Regional H.S. in Frenchtown, NJ, in 1970, and earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in 1974.

With an artist’s soul, she moved to Woodstock, NY, after college, returning to New Jersey about a year later.

In the late 1970s and into the ‘80s, she worked as a Creative Artist at the Burlington County Times, in both the news and art departments. It was at the BCT, that she found love in earnest with her husband of 27 years, the late Theodore A. Pensiero. Together, they worked to build a simple life based upon love and quiet adventures in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, where they enjoyed hiking, birding, canoeing, and camping.

Their home was always open to family and friends alike. Mary Ann loved her family and took great pleasure in being able to provide them with ample food and hugs.

She enjoyed reading, drawing, painting and needlepoint. She also practiced calligraphy and enjoyed making her own greeting cards, although they may have sometimes arrived late.

She was the sweet and loving daughter of the late Julius and Mary Ann Simon. She is survived by her son, Connor Pensiero, and his fiancée, Nicole Simpson, both of Philadelphia, PA; her brother Jules Simon of El Paso, TX, and his children; sister Barbara Simon of Baptistown, NJ and her children, and her sister and brother in-law, Susan and Michael Maurice, of Los Angeles, CA.

Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29 at the Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St. Moorestown, NJ.

Friends may call from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI FACE) of Burlington County, 16 East Main St., Moorestown NJ, 08057.
