Obituary: Shirley VanDuser

Funeral arrangements are private. Any memorial donations may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, in care of the Music Department.

Shirley VanDuser, age 86, passed away on Thursday, July 2nd, after complications from a stroke. She and her husband Jerry (who passed in 2009 from cancer) were residents of Moorestown for over 40 years, and longtime members of the First United Methodist Church. She was a classically trained pianist, having studied at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where she was born and raised. Shirley and Jerry were passionate about cooking, music and loved working with building miniature dollhouses and furnishings, all of which were designed and constructed by hand in their little workshop at home; and Shirley did a great deal of work in miniature needlepoint, which they often shared with friends and loved ones.

She is survived by three children: Guy VanDuser of Boston, MA; Claudia Keene of Edmeston, NY; and Victoria McGrath of Maple Shade, NJ; five grandchildren (one predeceased) and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are private. Any memorial donations or contributions may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 446 Camden Ave., Moorestown, in care of the Music Department.
