Ocean City, Moorestown Girls Swim Teams Grab Top Two Seeds in Playoffs

Each team receives two byes all the way to the semifinals of the eight-team field.

The Ocean City and Moorestown High School girls swim teams are one win away from meeting for a South Jersey title.

The Red Raiders, the defending South Jersey champions, grabbed the No. 1 seed in the South Jersey Group B tournament. The Quakers were seeded No. 2.

The top two seeds in the eight-team field receive two byes, meaning they won’t join the competition until the semifinals, which are currently scheduled for Feb. 9.

The final is set for Feb. 12 at GCIT.

The tournament begins Tuesday with two first round meets.

No. 5 GCIT hosts No. 8 Central Regional. The winner travels to No. 4 Cherry Hill West on Feb. 6, with the winner of that traveling to face Ocean City.

No. 6 Kingsway hosts No. 7 Toms River South. The winner travels to No. 3 Mainland on Feb. 6, with the winner of that traveling to face Moorestown.
