Philly Man Tried to Ditch Substance During DWI Arrest, Police Say

Arrest (DWI), 9:25 a.m. — Police arrested Peter A. Branco, 48, of the 2400 block of South Garnet Street, Philadelphia, for driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a four-vehicle collision on Route 73, according to a report. Branco tried to get rid of a controlled substance in an attempt to hinder the crash investigation, police said. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and tampering with evidence. He was committed to Burlington County Jail on $12,500 bail.

March 21

Attempted burglary, 8:30-11:30 a.m. — Someone shattered the rear window of a home on the 300 block of Tolerance Court in an attempted break-in, according to police. Damage is estimated at $100.

Arrest (DWI), 1:15 a.m. — Police arrested Kevin E. Walish, 52, of the 100 block of Sandhurst Drive, after he was stopped on Union Mill Road, according to a report. Walish was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.
