Police Remind Moorestown Bicyclists To Ride Safely
Moorestown police said they issued numerous summonses to bicyclists who were not riding safely over the weekend.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown police issued summonses to numerous bicyclists they say were driving recklessly on township roads this weekend.
“This is a safety issue for both drivers and bicyclists. When riding a bike you are required to observe the same rules of the road as vehicle operators,” police said. “Also, as a reminder, anyone under the age of 17 years is required to wear a helmet while riding a bicycle. Please be safe and courteous while riding your bikes.”
Police began issuing summonses after receiving numerous complaints about bicyclists creating hazards on the roads. They have also issued various safety tips in the past few days, including the ones that can be found below.
