Potential Burglar Smashes Door of Moorestown Home, Flees After Encountering Homeowner: Police

The incident took place on Friday night.

Moorestown, NJ -- A potential burglar smashed the rear glass door of a home on the unit block of Rosewood Lane with a brick around 8 p.m. Friday night, Moorestown Police said on Saturday.

However, the tables soon turned on the potential burglar when they subsequently encountered the homeowner on the second floor of the residence.

“Oh, excuse me,” the the attempted burglar said following the chance encounter.

The burglar then turned and hurriedly left the residence before getting the chance to take anything, according to police.

Police were first alerted of the crime by the alarm company, followed by a phone call from the homeowner.
