Rededication Ceremony, Library Week: Moorestown Monday Manual

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Welcome to the April 4 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up this week in and around Moorestown.

Topping the list this week is Moorestown Library’s Baby Time on Monday at 10 a.m. for those who are newborns through 2 years old. Then at 10:45 a.m., it’s Toddler Time, which is for those who are aged 2 to 4 years. Both events are being held to commemorate National Library Week. Contact the library for more details.

On Tuesday, Moorestown Library hosts Story Time for all those aged 3 years and older at 10 a.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. Later that same day at 7 p.m., the library will host a virtual version of Kahoot! Trivia Night for those in grades 5 through 8. These events are also part of National Library Week. Reach out to the library for more information.

It's the adults’ turn to get in on the National Library Week fun on Wednesday when Moorestown Library sponsors a virtual Q&A with Master Gardeners at 1:30 p.m. – contact the library for the details.

Also on Wednesday, the Moorestown School District is holding a Science Fair from 630 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the gym at the Upper Elementary School. Those with questions can email Gavin Quinn, the district’s science supervisor at gquinn@mtps.com or by calling 856-778-6600 and entering extension 18330.

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Moorestown Library and Moorestown Historical Society team up for a discussion on South Jersey native and Equal Rights Amendment advocate Alice Paul. Register for the event at this link.

The National Library Week Celebrations resume on Thursday, when the Moorestown Library hosts back-to-back virtual sessions for adults: the first, how to “get and stay organized” starts at 7 p.m. and the other, on meditation, starts at 7:30 p.m. More details on each are available by contacting the library.

On 9 a.m. Saturday, the Moorestown Parks and Recreation Department will rededicate the Memorial Baseball Fields. All are invited to check out the improvements to the fields and plaques honoring Howard Mayer, George S. Yohnnson, Roger A. Ross, and W. Phillip Seel Jr., four Moorestown residents who died in the line of duty during the Vietnam War.

And on Sunday at 7:30 p.m., the West Jersey Chamber Music Society and Local Adult Choir Team perform on “Requiems – Fauré and Rutter” in loving memory of C. Harry Knowles at the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown. The event will also be live-streamed.
