Regional Change for Moorestown High School Football Team in 2015

Moorestown moves from South Jersey to Central Jersey in 2015.

The size of the schools remains the same, but the Moorestown High School football team finds itself in a new region heading into the season.

Moorestown moves from South Jersey Group IV to Central Jersey Group IV, according to the classifications released by the NJSIAA this week.

All high schools in New Jersey are classified by size, with the largest schools being placed into Group V, and down to the smallest schools being put into Group I. Teams compete for championships in their respective groups depending on which region they are in.

Teams in Burlington County often find themselves moving between South and Central, depending on the number of teams in each classification in that given year. The NJSIAA tries to have the same number of teams in each region.

Moorestown’s regular season schedule includes South Jersey powers such as Timber Creek, Hammonton and Shawnee, as well as Seneca and Cherry Hill West.
