Renowned Wing Joint Facing Delays In Relocation To Moorestown

Cockadoodle Dan's said the wait may last into October, but the restaurant hopes to cook out of temporary locations until then.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — An acclaimed chicken wing joint without a permanent coop has been facing obstacles in its move to Moorestown. The wait for Cockadoodle Dan's to open in Moorestown may last into October, the restaurant said Thursday.

Known for its wings and cheesesteaks, Cockadoodle Dan's Wings and Deli operated in Palmyra for several years. But the landlord opted against renewing the restaurant's lease, according to South Jersey Food Scene.

Cockadoodle Dan's closed its Palmyra restaurant in early July, when the lease ended. The eatery will relocate to 75 E Main St., Moorestown.

That move has come with challenges though. In a recent Facebook post, Cockadoodle Dan's expressed frustration with its former landlord, who returned almost none of the security deposit, according to the business.

Cockadoodle Dan's hopes to operate out of temporary locations until then. From 12-9 p.m. Saturday, the eatery will cook at Dr. Brewlittle's in Maple Shade.

Beginning Sept. 7, the business hopes to cook at different locations from Thursday through Sunday, with menus changing each week.

"We are tired of waiting to cook and looking for ways to get back to serving up some awesome food for everyone starting this weekend," Cockadoodle Dan's said on Facebook.

Cockadoodle Dan's has the region's best wings, according to South Jersey Magazine's 2023 Best of the Best.
