Road Warriors: Moorestown Football Team to Play 6 Straight on the Road While Turf is Installed

The Quakers' first home game is scheduled for Oct. 23.

Moorestown High School is set to unveil a new artificial turf football field at its first home game of the season, against Cherry Hill West, the Burlington County Times reports.

The problem is, that home game isn’t until Oct. 23.

The Quakers football team will play its first six games on the road, beginning Sept. 11 at Winslow Township. Games at Burlington Township, Seneca, Shawnee, Triton and Hammonton. It will play back-to-back home games against Cherry Hill West and Timber Creek before wrapping up the season Nov. 6 at Paul VI.

Coach Beau Sherry, who is in his third year at Moorestown, isn’t concerned about the road games, according to the report.

Rancocas Valley recently dealt with the same issues, and coach Dan Haussman said there can be fewer distractions playing on the road. His team was 6-0 playing on the road while waiting for their turf to be installed, according to the report.
