Rowan College at Burlington County Named Top Community College In New Jersey

The two-year college topped learnhowtobecome.org's leaderboard based on quality, student services and students' income after graduation.

Rowan College at Burlington County has been ranked as the the top community college in New Jersey by LearnHowToBecome.org, a leading higher education resource and information provider.

“It is no surprise that the region’s fastest-growing community college is also the best in New Jersey,” Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes, who serves as education liaison, said. “Rowan College at Burlington County is a shining example of the exceptional opportunities that exist in Burlington County without high costs.”

All colleges on LearnHowToBecome.org’s leaderboard must be non-profit and hold regional accreditation. Individual scoring is based on objective criteria that include the annual alumni earnings 10 years after entering college, student-teacher ratios and graduation rates, among other metrics.

Rowan College at Burlington County landed a 99.50 total score, followed by Mercer County Community College with a 98.11 score. Rowan College at Burlington County’s graduation rate is 22 percent, and alumni earnings are projected at $34,600.

In the past, the college has also been recognized as having the most affordable tuition and fee rate in New Jersey, for offering one of the country’s most affordable bachelor’s degree programs, being in the top 6 percent for increasing graduates’ income and having a top 10 culinary arts school. It has also received multiple awards for its online presence.
