Rowan College at Burlington County Reveals Photos of New Student Center

Rowan College at Burlington County unveiled the first images of the Student Success Center that will serve as the gateway to a transformed Mount Laurel campus on Tuesday. The building is set to open in the fall of 2017.

It will serve a range of student services, including enrollment, academic planning, knowledge commons library, bookstore, dining area and technology.

It also unveiled a schematic of the entire campus where most buildings will be changed to accommodate the Pemberton campus, except for arts programs which will join the culinary program in Mount Holly to create an arts hub in the downtown.

In Mount Laurel, each building will be dedicated to a specific academic division, while College Drive will be completed to form an entire loop around the campus. The building was designed by USA Architects and Moody Nolan, while renovations to eight buildings in Mount Laurel and Mount Holly are being designed by CDI L.R. Kimball.

“Our students deserve a breathtaking, technology-rich building to serve all of their needs including student services, dining and a welcoming place to study between classes,” Rowan College at Burlington County President Paul Drayton said. “This building accomplishes all of that and more. It’s going to be a stunning addition to our transforming Mount Laurel campus and I cannot wait to see it rise up and add a new dynamic to our landscape.”

“The new Student Success Center will transcend the campus and be a source of pride for the entire county,” Burlington County Freeholder Deputy Director Kate Gibbs, who supported the transformation plan when she served as college trustee, said. “From the partnership with Rowan University and a path to a $25,000 bachelor’s degree to modernizing the Mount Laurel campus, Rowan College at Burlington County is truly becoming the model of higher education in the 21st century that will benefit countless county residents.”

The building fulfills several guiding principles identified by a broad range of faculty, staff and students:

• Modern, yet timeless.
• Fun, exciting and adaptable.
• Unifies the campus.

“This building will create a new vibe on campus that students will love,” Rowan College at Burlington County Student Government Association President Caylor-Ann Rose-Green, who plans to graduate in May and continue her education at Rowan University, said. “Not only will students enjoying spending time here, I can’t wait to come back as an alumna to see this facility.”

“The Student Success Center creates a true community center for our campus,” Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success Mike Cioce said. “This will be an attractive place where students can conveniently receive all the services they need under one roof.”
