Screening of Sunset Blvd. at Moorestown Library Monday Night

It's part of the First Monday Film Series with Irv Slifkin.

Moorestown, NJ -- The Moorestown Library’s First Monday Film Series with film expert and author Irv Slifkin continues on Monday night, May 2, 7 p.m. in the library’s meeting room.

This week’s movie is the 1950 black comedy/drama “Sunset Blvd.” The description for the movie is below:

Directed by Billy Wilder. With Gloria Swanson, William Holden, Erich von Stroheim, Nancy Olson, Fred Clarke. A pitch-black comedy from the great Billy Wilder in which he holds a mirror up to his own industry. What he sees is not pretty: Norma Desmond (played by silent screen star Gloria Swanson), a once-prominent silent screen star hoping to make a comeback with help from a desperate screenwriter (William Holden). Filled with cameos and a memorable supporting turn by director Erich von Stroheim as Swanson’s ever-obedient servant.
